Keep Eric and his family in your thoughts and prayers. He went missing in New Milford after telling his wife he was heading to the swollen Houstatonic RIver in Lovers Leap State Park to retrieve a lost bike that he fell off of the day previously. Oh how much I love newborns! They are so sweet and cuddly and smell so wonderful!  This little guy was a dream in the studio!  We got him nice and warm and snuggly and he fell sweetly to sleep and let us get some wonderful photographs!  I just loved snuggling with him!  Here are a few of my favorites from his session!

We are pre-booking newborns at the studio now!  The best time to book your newborn session is while you are pregnant before your baby has even arrived!  This will ensure you priority scheduling once your sweet little one arrives!  It also allows for me to plan your session especially for you, around your preferences for colors and props, etc.  Many of the props we use for newborn sessions are handmade and take time to be created.  Pre-booking also gets the paperwork done while you are waiting for your little one to arrive so that once he/she is here you can spend more time staring into his or her beautiful sweet eyes and enjoy your time!  Once you are pre-booked you simply call, email or text us when your baby has arrived and we respond back with our availability for you to pick from!

First birthday cake smash sessions are always a blast! This one left me laughing till my sides hurt!  This little birthday boy was in complete and utter sugar euphoria!  LOL!   I never laughed so hard!  He was eating all the frosting (my favorite part too) and squealing in delight the entire time!  I have to say, it is hard to find an image where he isn’t so gleefully happy his entire face is just squished up in joy!  He really enjoyed his cake….or should I say frosting! 

Our cake smash sessions include a portrait session before the cake so that you can get a beautiful first birthday portrait as well!  We have many tutu/petti/princess/angel accessories at the studio you are welcome to use for the portrait portion of your session if you’d like to do something extra special!   Cake smash sessions also include a brag book which is a great way to keep those photos!  Please book your cake session about 6-8 weeks in advance to ensure you’ll get a date near your child’s first birthday!

A reminder that it is NOW time to book your 2014 SENIOR PORTRAITS!!!  We prefer to shoot them in the summer BEFORE the school year begins!  When the school year starts up and seniors are studying, working and participating in all their senior activities it becomes very difficult to find the time to get portraits done so photographing them in the summer is so much easier!

It’s First Holy Communion time and we have had quite a few portrait sessions at the studio.  Now that spring is popping we’ll be doing a lot of outside sessions as well!  It’s a very special time in a child’s life.  Recently we did my own son’s First Communion portraits.  He’s making his First Communion next week and we are very excited!  Here are a few from his studio session!
It’s always nice to incorporate personal objects into your portrait session, no matter what type of session.  Here Billy is holding his father’s rosary beads and prayer book that he received for his own First Communion.

Our Spring Mini Session is available!  We have two different types of mini sessions this year!  On-Location AND in-studio!  Our on-location sessions always sell out very quickly!  This is our first year with in-studio mini sessions!  We decided to add them after a lot of requests!  We highly suggest you contact the studio asap via email for more information or to book your mini session!  Due to the popularity of these email is always the quickest mode!  Phone calls will be returned in order received and always take longer so you may not get your session!

We have an absolutely amazing special going on for ALL pre-booked newborn sessions that are pre-booked between today and April 30th!  All pre-booked newborn sessions during this time will receive a FREE follow-up mini sitting up session for your baby!  The mini sitting up session will be done during the 6 – 10 month age!  This is a $100 session that you will receive for free just for pre-booking your newborn session!

Newborn sessions are $150 and by pre-booking your newborn while you are pregnant you ensure priority scheduling once your little one arrives!  You book using your due date and then as soon as your sweet little one arrives you contact the studio to let us know and we will give you all the dates/times we have available to shoot your newborn session within that two week magical time that newborns still curl up and sleep best while being posed!   It will also allow us to personally design your session according to baby’s sex (if you know it) and your color preferences, props etc.  Many of the props, hats and headbands that we use are handmade and take time so if we order something special to be used for your baby’s session it’s important to have enough time!  Pre-booking makes everything so easy for you once the baby arrives too!  All your paperwork is taken care of in advance so once the baby arrives you do not need to spend time filling out paperwork when you’d rather be staring into his/her eyes!  You simply pick your preferred time and show up!

Once baby reaches the 6-10 month mark we’ll be shooting a follow up mini session for your baby!  He or she will go through so much change from the newborn session to this time!   We want the baby to be able to sit up comfortably alone for this session.  This will be a 30 minute mini session which is usually more than enough time for this age!  They tire easily and a full session for a baby of this age is usually way too long!

NOTE:  We do only book a pre-determined number of newborns per month so once we fill up we will no longer be able to extend this offer!  We advise contacting the studio as soon as possible to get your baby pre-booked!

Newborn sessions are so much fun!  The ability to capture a newborn baby within the first few days of life before they change always amazes me!  They come into the studio within the first week or two of life for their session then when parents return with them for their ordering session, then to pick up their beautiful orders and I get to see them again I’m so amazed by the changes that have taken place in such a short time!  It all happens so quickly!

Remember it’s always best to pre-book your newborn session while you are still pregnant!  This will ensure you priority scheduling once your little one arrives!  It also allows for me to plan your session based on your personal likes!  Every session is different from the others and having time to plan something special for each client is what makes each session especially unique!  Many times I will order hats or headbands or props or backgrounds specifically for a session that I’m creating for a client and those things take time as many of the items I use are handmade!

The studio has been a hustle and bustle with newborn, maternity and model shoots this past month!  April is looking pretty tight at this point and we are currently booking out the remainder of 2013. We are at about our quota for 2013 wedding bookings and booking for 2014 weddings now!  We will probably take two more weddings for 2013 and close out our schedule so contact the studio as soon as possible to have our wedding collection guide emailed to you!  linda@lindahawkinsphotography.com

We had quite a few winter shoots this past winter and there was plenty of snow to go around for all!  Here are a few shots from a session I had with my own very special girl!  The snow was actually too deep the day we did her photo shoot and she had to stand on a stool!  I was in it up to my hips in some places which really limited our moving around!  Here are some shots from our Narnia themed session!

Looks like we are done with the snow season (fingers crossed) but I’m soooo looking forward to all those spring and summer sessions we have coming out at beautiful locations like parks, fields and the beach!  Contact us well in advance to schedule your shoot as our schedule books out pretty tight way in advance!
