I had the pleasure of shooting Sarah’s senior session!  She’s an incredible person!  Not only is she smart and one of the top students in her class but she’s beautiful and fun too!  We had a great time down by the ocean shooting this session!  One of the perks of my job is getting to shoot in places I didn’t even know existed!   Many of my clients know of or have access to places that I had no clue were out there!  The evening of this shoot was just beautiful and being by the water totally made my night!  Anyway, here’s a peek of Sarah’s session!  Sarah you ROCKED it girl!

Sarah I hope you love your sneak peek!  You look stunning!  I’ll be in touch as soon as your gallery is ready!

Senior photography is one of my favorite types of sessions!  I have so much fun with this age group, they are really into their sessions and I enjoy the time I spend with them during these sessions!  I have just a few sessions left available for September at this time!  If you’d like to get your senior session scheduled contact me ASAP to get on the calendar!  Some schools do have a contracted photographer that you must use for your yearbook photos but you are free to hire your own photographer for your other senior photos that you’ll share with friends and family and hang on your walls!  Other schools allow you to use photographs from your own photographer as long as they fit to their standard specifications, just check with your yearbook adviser for more information!  Chose someone who has work you adore and your session will result in unique photographs all about you that you’ll cherish for years to come and be proud to show off!

I had this little cutie in the studio for a session recently!  She’s just so alert and full of smiles, kicking and blowing bubbles and all the other things three month old babies love to do!  Wouldn’t sleep a wink of course, three month old babies are so different than newborns!  We got some great shots!

Told you she was adorable!  Can’t get any cuter!  Mom I’ll be in touch very soon with your gallery!  Hope you enjoy these for now!

I had this adorable session with family H recently that I wanted to share!  They have the cutest children and their son is such a doll, so well behaved too!  We did this session in the morning so everyone was bright eyed and ready to roll!  Check out how cute they are!  I love the colors they chose for their outfits…looked great with the location!

And a few more of this little guy!  He’s as cute as a button and I cannot resist putting more up!

It’s gearing up to be a busy fall season!  Lots of weddings!  Apparently fall is the new spring!  I’ve got a load of sessions already  booked too!  So fun!  Just as a reminder, for those who are already thinking about the holidays (I know I already am) the cut off for sessions to get prints in on time is 11/15/10.  The cut off for orders is 11/30/10.  I cannot guarantee anything after those dates will be in in time for the holidays!  I have a lot of sessions already booked so time is getting really tight on the calendar already!  Please plan ahead!

Have a great day everyone!

Rain Rain go Away!

August 25, 2010

On this dreary rainy morning as I’m running through editing piles and piles of images for my clients I just had to post this image to hopefully brighten your day!  This is from a recent engagement session during sundown on a beautiful summer evening!  We had a lot of fun!

During these dark and rainy days we should always remember to let an umbrella be your smile!  Oh and I hear the sun is right around the corner and this weekend shall be fabulous!  Make sure you enjoy every minute of it!  ;)

It’s not too late to get your senior portraits done!  Some schools have contracted photographers for yearbook photos.  You can have them shoot your yearbook photo and then hire your own favorite photographer for some stunning personalized photographs to hand out to family and friends and display!  Many schools do not force you to use the contracted photographer any longer.  Check with your yearbook advisor to see what the rules are for your school!  They usually have a spec sheet for you to bring to your photographer with what is required.  If you are allowed to submit a photo taken by your own photographer you can have something no one else has!   I’ve got a few openings left in September so if you haven’t scheduled your session yet, do it soon!  You can select a traditional studio session like the photographs in this post, or an on-location session which you’ll see examples of in posts below this post.

I had some fun out with Danielle and Tim shooting their engagement session in a fabulous field just before sunset!  They are such a cute couple together!  I cannot wait to shoot their wedding, it’s going to be so fun I can tell already!  Here’s a quick peek of their e-session!  The countdown is on guys!  Can’t wait!

I had the honor of photographing this beautiful wedding!  What a fun day it was, everyone was so happy and blessed to be together.   It was a spectacular and very hot day!  I could barely see through my camera as it was steaming up from the extreme humidity!   Just as we were wrapping up the outdoor formal shots it started to sprinkle and once we were inside the skies opened up to one of the most torrential downpours ever!  But not after giving us the most spectacular clouds in the sky!  Francine and Charlie I wish you all the best as you go forward building your lives together!

Your day was a great one that I will always remember!   Best wishes!

Kelsey is a senior this year and she wanted her session to reflect her personality and what better place to shoot it than at her fabulous home!  They have an incredible place with the most incredible old barn!  It has beautiful flaking paint and it’s so rustic and perfect for a session!   Kelsey is a very down to earth casual girl and I just love her natural look and her freckles!   She has a lot of different “looks” too…we had a lot of fun shooting her session!

Just a quick reminder that the studio is closed Friday, August 6th through Sunday, August 15th.  I hope that everyone is enjoying this fabulous summer!  I have been loving every second!

Little Ella is six months old and what a baby doll she is!  You couldn’t get any cuter!  We had such a fun time with her in the studio, she’s at the perfect age for a session!  Able to sit up nicely, but still not yet walking.  Babies at this age tend to sit happily and are very cooperative!  I enjoy capturing childhood…such a treasure!  Look at this beautiful little bumpkin!

Ella was a joy in the studio!  Mom and Dad I’ll let you know as soon as your gallery is up and ready!

My schedule is booking up fast!  My computers have been churning away editing images for two weeks straight non-st0p!  A lot of galleries are going up this week for clients!

If you want to book a fall session so you can have prints ready for holiday cards and gifts there are a few openings left at this time.  Once they are gone they are gone!  The fall is always our busiest time of the year!

Enjoy the day everyone!

Little Zoe came into the studio at one week of age for her very first photo session!   She was just as sweet as can be!   And she had an awesome photo shoot!   I always tell my clients the earlier you can get them in, the better! Under two weeks is best.    I know this is bigger than my usual peek, but this family has been waiting since before my vacation!  Just check out this beautiful girl!

Happy Summer!

July 12, 2010

Vacation week over!  Back to work!  Lots of phone calls to make, editing to complete, blog posts to present!  Can’t wait to get it all done!  During my week “off” we managed to lose the hard drive that contained emails.  SO, if you’re waiting to hear back from me via an email and you have not, you may want to give me a shout because I am probably in need of your email address!  You can email me at linda@lindahawkinsphotography.com or give me a call at 401-486-3656.  Wedding clients are all set, I have all your info.  I’m looking for a couple of recent clients who I have orders in for and ready to deliver or galleries up and I’m missing the contact info on a couple of Littlest Hero clients!  One was a recent shoot, two others we were working on scheduling!  Also, if you were a recent inquiry via email and you did not receive a response, I am sorry, it’s likely your email was lost as well.   So please contact me!

I’m booking fall out now so if you were hoping for a beautiful fall session with the  colorful leaves and you’re thinking about Holiday gifts and Holiday cards during this fabulous hot summer, give me a call or drop me an email ASAP so we can get you scheduled!  It’s booking up fast now and you don’t want to miss out!  I will be extending my $100 “Smithfield” session special through the end of September, so it’s a great time to get those photos done!   For anyone who books a session with me and has it in any location in Smithfield the session fee is only $100 for a regular session!  This can be used for families up to four!   Does not apply to newborn sessions, sorry!  I will also continue with my $100 Pixie sessions!  These are sessions for babies who are no longer newborns, through toddler-hood who will not sit for a full 2 hour session.  This is a one hour session and the child should be between the ages of 4 months and 3 years of age.  First birthday cake smashes are not included.  This is a one hour session either at the studio or 20 minutes from zip 02828.

Also, don’t forget those Bellies and Babies packages!  Starting at $350 and includes BOTH maternity and newborn session at the studio and a beautiful brag book containing 20 of your favorite shots from both sessions!  This has been a very popular package this year!  It makes a fabulous shower gift too!   Brag books are my most popular seller!  They are really stunning to see in person!

I do have gift certificates available!  I’ve had many people buy gift certificates as birthday and baby and bridal shower gifts this year!   The gift of beautiful portraits is something cherished for a lifetime!

Once again, I want to remind everyone that fall is the busiest time of the year and the schedule books up really fast!  If you have your heart set on a session with me, please contact me ASAP.  I feel awful turning people away once the sessions are full  but it happens every year!  Don’t wait till the last minute!  In a couple of weeks I’ll be putting out the cut-off schedule for getting your products in time for the holidays.  We cannot guarantee that any sessions done after Thanksgiving will be in in time for the holidays!  All images are individually hand edited by me and this takes 2-3 weeks minimum after your session!  Then time to make choices, time for labs to print and return items all needs to be factored in!

Back to work!  Watch the blog this week for lots of previews!

Have a beautiful day everyone!

I just LOVE Sydney!  She’s a cute as a button!  She came to me through the Littlest Heroes Project which is know known as Inspiration through Art.  She did not stop smiling the entire time she was in front of my camera.  I just wanted to squeeze her she’s so cute!  Her Mom, Mattie, is a good friend of mine and I was honored when she asked if I’d shoot her Littlest Hereos session!  Mattie is a photographer too and she has loads of beautiful photos of her little Sydney so they wanted some sweet family images.  Again this session was shot in an overgrown field on a summer evening.  Something that seems so plain and boring is magical once again!  Check out Sydney and her family in some of my favorites from their session!

I love you guys!  Sydney is such a beautiful blessing and the joy she brings you truly shows!  I’ll be in touch soon with your images!
