I cannot believe fall is already upon us, why did summer have to go so fast? I do love the fall colors, Halloween costumes, carving pumpkins, fall decorating and warm pumpkin muffins smothered in cream cheese! I’m excited about offering this limited edition Halloween Mini Special to all the ghosts and goblins out there! This year, for two days only, Linda Hawkins Photography will be offering Halloween themed mini-sessions in the studio! The fun takes place Saturday, October 22nd and Sunday October 30th. The sitting is only $25 and there are 3 packages to choose from for this special! I have a super-cute Halloween background planned that will work perfectly with cute or scary costumes and basic black and bright white will also be available!
Once both days are filled, the children who are shot on those two dates will be eligible to win a free session for their immediate family! One photo of each child shot in their costume during the Halloween Mini Specials will be selected and posted here on the blog (no names) and the child with the most comments will win a complimentary Holiday/Christmas session and their choice of 24 – 5×7 custom holiday portrait cards from that session!

You will have your choice of a fall backdrop, black or white. Babies must be able to sit unattended. This is an individual session. $10 additional per person.
These sessions will go fast! Please contact the studio at 401-486-3656 or http://lindahawkinsphotography.com/site/#/contact/ to book your session!

I had this little cutie pie in my studio the other day! She is so sweet and adorable! A petite little gentle one at my favorite age for photos, 8 months! Able to sit without walking! She was able to crawl, but she did sit for a good while before she decided crawling away would be more fun…and we were pretty much done at that point anyway! Here are some from her session!

Told you she was a cutie pie! And try as I did, she would not smile much at me! I think we did everything but stand on our heads! I think that’s what she may have been waiting for! Even mom and dad tried! Anyhow, non-smiling photos are always my favorite. Baby “E” has the most beautiful eyes, they truly melt your heart! Look out boys!

It’s always cool when other photographers come to me for their sessions! Was happy, and sad, to shoot a family beach session for Jen DeCesari of DeCesari Photography. Sad because Jen and her family are moving away down south and she wanted a family session here in RI before she left! Jen’s family was so cute at the beach one evening a week ago! We met up just a few days after the hurricane and surprisingly the beach and the Narragansett area looked untouched by the storms! September is the perfect month for a beach session here in RI! The weather is not too hot and we still have great evening light! I do have a few times left for beach sessions so if you’re interested contact the studio ASAP! Here is a quick peek of a few of the shots from their session!

Jen I know you’ll love your new home, but you’ll be missed up here in RI! I hope your move is going well and you’re not completely exhausted yet! I wish you and your family all the best! I’m sure we will keep in touch and you’ll be back to RI at some point! Say hi to those cuties for me!
I have a few spots left during September for beach sessions so contact the studio ASAP if you’d like one! Don’t let time slip away, capture your family memories now!
We can be reached at 401-486-3656, please leave a message if we do not answer and we’ll get back to you ASAP!

We have power back again! This has been a crazy week since Hurricane Irene rolled through! I am sorry for all those who have suffered loss and damage and who are still sitting in the dark! I’m so grateful and blessed, our situation could have been much worse! There are a number of completed galleries loading as I write this and I’ll be in touch shortly to those who are waiting! Thank you everyone for your patience! Thank you National Grid and all the other electrical workers from across the country who came here to help us out of this mess! Thank you to the DPW for helping us out too! We are hoping the debris is removed soon, it’s a bit of a mess still here at our home, but the kids do finally get back to school tomorrow and they are very excited about that! It will be nice for everyone to get back into a schedule again!
Sweet little newborn baby “Z” came to the studio at just four days old! He was the easiest newborn shoot I have ever had! In and out of the studio in 45 minutes….a record! I cannot emphasize enough how important it is to bring newborns into the studio early! It makes a huge difference! We are joking about how new parents should stop in at the studio on their way home from the hospital!
Little Z was just perfect! He slept through the entire session, didn’t make a peep or open his eyes and didn’t force his legs and arms out and did not make a peep! He was very happy and comfortable as we moved him through the session! And his skin was perfect! Of course, he’s a beautiful guy and so cute and cuddly which was an added bonus! Anyhow, here are a few from his session!

He was so relaxed! Jess, Dan and Jake congratulations on your new baby! I hope you love your peek! I’ll be in touch soon with the rest of your gallery! xo
In the first two weeks of your life a newborn baby grows and changes at an incredible rate of speed! Parents are always surprised when they see the images two weeks later at how much their baby has changed! You want to capture that sweet newborn newness right away! I know many parents are feeling exhausted during those first days, don’t worry, the studio is a comfortable and relaxing place and I have often had parents lay on the sofa and nap during the shoot while I photography their baby!
Newborn sessions are best done before 2 weeks of age! Contact the studio before your baby is born to get on the calendar to ensure you’ll get in before that important two week cut off!

With the recent migration issues of our website to another server by the host and Hurricane Irene I have been unable to blog and keep up! We are back online and have power at both our home and studio and we are doing our best to catch up with the many emails and phone calls we were unable to get to while we were down! Please bear with us as we make the best effort over the next day or so to get back to everyone. Also, we have been made aware that some of our recent inquiry emails to the studio have been lost forever. We received blank emails instead of the actual inquiry message from our clients and potential clients. We noticed the issue on Friday, if you’ve emailed us during that time and have not heard back by this Thursday, please email or phone call us! The studio email is linda@lindahawkinsphotography.com (this is the one that has had an issue, but should be corrected at this point, that is what our web host is telling us), my personal email is linda_hawkins@verizon.net and the studio phone (which we believe is working fine at this point) is 401-486-3656. For some strange reason we are still having wifi and 3G issues, so we appreciate your patience as we try to get the little things cleared! At the moment the most reliable connection seems to be the email linda_hawkins@verizon.net. We will make every attempt to return all the emails and phone calls that we do have today and tomorrow! We are still working closely with the website host to resolve issues so if you notice anything please let us know so we can alert them! It’s been a long haul with technology the past week! We had a lot of clean up from the storm and we are now waiting for the large piles of debris to be removed from our front yard! We lost a 100 foot blue spruce from our yard and so lucky for us it did not decide to fall on our house, but in the other direction right across the road! The storm was quite an experience, one me or my children will never forget! Quite scary! School is still postponed and we are not sure when they will get back! We hope everyone is safe and we pray that everyone gets power restored as soon as possible! The crews are working so hard!
So, what everyone is waiting for! I was so very lucky to witness something very special last week before the hurricane! A service member returning home to his family after his one year deployment overseas! He was due to arrive late at night and his plane was a little later than expected, but incredible these young children had no problem waiting up for him! They were so excited that daddy was coming home! They even had a long car ride from Groton, CT! Of course Mr. X had a lot of plans for daddy for the week and I really hope that they got to do them all! Little Miss A seemed a bit shy at first, but very happy! The energy was wonderful! I’m hoping they all got holed up together for the weekend during the storm for lots of uninterrupted family togetherness! Without further ad0……a very special homecoming for a very sweet family!
We all arrived at TF Green airport a bit early so there was a bit of waiting, and daddy’s flight was a little delayed, but these kids were so well behaved I must admit! So glad it was not my kids waiting because it would have been a different story for sure! lol Note, Mom is texting with dad for an eta!

And more waiting…and checking….and anticipation…..

And finally, the moment everyone was waiting for! HE’S HERE!!!
Big hugs and kisses as everyone gets reunited! So fabulous!

It was quite an experience and I was so happy to be a part of it! I’ll be in touch with this family shortly to get their photos to them. They came to me as part of the Operation Love program that I am proud to be part of!
Lastly, I do have some weddings and portraits to get up for everyone and galleries to be posted. Please bear with me as we crawl out from under, we are a bit behind after the storm but we will catch up! Hugs to all, I hope everyone is safe and has their power back very soon! I heard it may be up to two weeks for some. As I sit here very late, and it’s very dark, I hear the sounds of heavy equipment and chain saws even now and the occasional hum of a generator and my thoughts go out to all the neighbors I have in my neighborhood who are unable to sleep in their beds tonight because they have trees through their houses! The fury of the storm still scares me! Can’t wait to have everyone back into the neighborhood!
Take care!

Mr. A came into the studio recently for a six month session. He was as cute as could be! This is a fun age! I know you’ve all heard me say it before, but once your baby is able to sit well and not yet crawling and walking it is one of the perfect times for a photoshoot! It’s one of the milestone sessions! Once babies become more mobile and start crawling and walking things become a bit more difficult. But this age, they will sit there and smile for you and just be the most adorable little things! Baby “A”‘s mama brought along a bunch of cute outfits and hats including a beautiful hand knit sweater by a very special grandmother who never got to meet this little guy! Here are a few images from his session at the studio!

I just love this age! Babies are so fun and I miss these days with my children! Mom and Dad of Baby A I hope you enjoy this peek! I’ll be in touch soon!
Call the studio today to book your little one’s milestone session! 401-486-3656

Little Miss “M” is just under two and I had her come see me for a fun little tea party. This age can be a tough one to photograph but I find if we try to make the session fun and playful children of this age tend to do a lot better than in a studio situation. It took her a few to warm up but in the end I think she had a good time! We shot these just before sunset which gave us some very pretty light!
A little shy at first!

Miss “M” is just so very sweet! I knew she’d love a tea party! She was as cute as can be and she was playing, which is much more acceptable to a child her age! She even brought her very special lovey teddy! To Miss “M’s” mama I hope you love this peek….it’s just too adorable!
Still have a few openings for the remainder of the year! Looks like we have a busy September – December! So much fun! Contact the studio today to get your session scheduled! You can even book a fun tea party session for your child!

Miss K is just as sweet as pie and super serious and very…ummm….DIVA! LOL! She was so into her photoshoot, she must be watching American’s Top Model with all the poses she was throwing at me! Here’s a peek from her session…too cute!

How cute is that!? Hope you enjoy this peek!
We have lots of exciting things going on at the studio! It’s going to be a very busy fall and we are so excited! At two years old Miss A is a typical child. This tends to be a difficult age to photograph. I find that children of this age do much better outside than in the studio. In the studio this age seems to be more into exploring and not into sitting for the camera. Outside they can play and explore while we shoot and everybody is happy! Even though a session can be challenging, it’s not impossible as you’ll see by Miss A’s preview here!

Miss “A” is a cute little doll! I know her mom was very worried that we didn’t get any nice photographs, but I think we did a great job! Hope you enjoy this sneak peek!

We are booking the popular fall season NOW! Fall is always the most popular time for sessions and I always book my schedule right out! So if you’re thinking of doing a session in the months of September – December you need to book now! I hate saying no,but every year I find myself turning clients away who didn’t book early enough!!! All sessions must be shot by November 19th in order for prints to be in in time for the holidays! If you’re thinking about ordering some of our beautiful custom holiday cards with photos from your session on them (always a big hit) those orders must be in early enough to allow for turn around at the lab (10 days) and for you to send them out! We recommend all holiday card orders be in by November 10th at the latest!
If you are expecting a baby during the fall months, it’s highly recommended you book your newborn session now so that we know how many newborns will be on our schedule during these months and plan for them. If you do not book in advance, chances are you will not get on the schedule! Newborn sessions really need to be done within two weeks of birth to ensure those beautiful newborn sleeping, curled up poses! They’re only newborns once, don’t miss out! Make sure you book early to ensure you’ll get those beautiful images to cherish forever!
http://lindahawkinsphotography.com/site/#/contact/ today to book your session or for more information! We look forward to working with you!

Little Miss “C” is the cutest baby!!!! I knew when I saw her she’d be the perfect little cherub so I knew the wings would be the perfect prop! She is also at my favorite age! The age when children can sit up well but do not crawl or walk yet is the best age for baby photographs! They tend to be happy and will sit and flirt and smile perfectly for their portraits! Once children start to crawl and walk it’s much harder to get them to cooperate for portraits! They tend to want to get up and walk or crawl away exploring of course! Check out some images from Baby “C”‘s session! Seriously, I wanted to squeeze her all day, and I would have if she let me! LOL Ready for some cuteness overload….well….here it is!

Amy and Chris I hope you love your preview! I’ll let you know as soon as I have the rest of your images ready! Safe and happy travels!!! xo

I had the pleasure of shooting the cutest little guys the other day! The older of the two brothers, “R” came in for a studio session when he was younger. He loved it so much he decided to bring in his cute little brother! They were really cute and they did an excellent job at this outside natural light session! I find that sometimes younger children do not do as well inside as they do outside. And it’s beautiful out right now to have a session done! Children photography sessions are really lots of fun and I enjoyed seeing these guys the other afternoon! The new baby is around nine months old, one of my favorite ages for photographs! At that age they are not walking (and hopefully not crawling) and able to sit really well and they tend to be flirts full of beautiful smiles! Check them out! Told you they were adorable! Mama I’ll be in touch soon with your gallery!
