We have power back again!  This has been a crazy week since Hurricane Irene rolled through!  I am sorry for all those who have suffered loss and damage and who are still sitting in the dark!  I’m so grateful and blessed, our situation could have been much worse!  There are a number of completed galleries loading as I write this and I’ll be in touch shortly to those who are waiting!  Thank you everyone for your patience!  Thank you National Grid and all the other electrical workers from across the country who came here to help us out of this mess!  Thank you to the DPW for helping us out too!  We are hoping the debris is removed soon, it’s a bit of a mess still here at our home, but the kids do finally get back to school tomorrow and they are very excited about that!  It will be nice for everyone to get back into a schedule again!

Sweet little newborn baby “Z” came to the studio at just four days old!  He was the easiest newborn shoot I have ever had!  In and out of the studio in 45 minutes….a record!  I cannot emphasize enough how important it is to bring newborns into the studio early!  It makes a huge difference!   We are joking about how new parents should stop in at the studio on their way home from the hospital!

Little Z was just perfect!  He slept through the entire session, didn’t make a peep or open his eyes and didn’t force his legs and arms out and did not make a peep!  He was very happy and comfortable as we moved him through the session!  And his skin was perfect!   Of course, he’s a beautiful guy and so cute and cuddly which was an added bonus!  Anyhow, here are a few from his session!

He was so relaxed!  Jess, Dan and Jake congratulations on your new baby!  I hope you love your peek!  I’ll be in touch soon with the rest of your gallery!  xo

In the first two weeks of your life a newborn baby grows and changes at an incredible rate of speed!  Parents are always surprised when they see the images two weeks later at how much their baby has changed!   You want to capture that sweet newborn newness right away!  I know many parents are feeling exhausted during those first days, don’t worry, the studio is a comfortable and relaxing place and I have often had parents lay on the sofa and nap during the shoot while I photography their baby!

Newborn sessions are best done before 2 weeks of age!  Contact the studio before your baby is born to get on the calendar to ensure you’ll get in before that important two week cut off!

This little princess came in to the studio the other day for her first professional photo session at 11 days old! Not once did she close her eyes and she was already starting to loose the newborn curl! She was one of the sweetest awake babies I have ever photographed! Her eyes are the biggest eyes I have ever seen…just incredibly beautiful! Here are a few from her session! I’m sure you’ll agree how beautiful she is!  Lucky for us it was a beautiful evening and right around the golden hour of sunset so we could get some beautiful outside shots!  They are, of course, my favorites!

She was the cutest little thing!  I enjoyed shooting her newborn session! I double enjoyed that we were able to take her outside!   Mom and Dad I’ll be in touch in about two weeks with your private gallery!  I hope you enjoy this peek for now!

The new studio is right on schedule and will be open on September 1st!  The fall schedule is booking up like crazy, just as in past years!  The fall is such a busy time for the studio with everyone getting their senior photos, family photos and holiday photos!  Book early!

We are booking the popular fall season NOW!  Fall is always the most popular time for sessions and I always book my schedule right out!   So if you’re thinking of doing a session in the months of September – December you need to book now!   I hate saying no,but every year I find myself turning clients away who didn’t book early enough!!!  All sessions must be shot by November 19th in order for prints to be in in time for the holidays!  If you’re thinking about ordering some of our beautiful custom holiday cards with photos from your session on them (always a big hit) those orders must be in early enough to allow for turn around at the lab (10 days) and for you to send them out!  We recommend all holiday card orders be in by November 10th at the latest!

If you are expecting a baby during the fall months, it’s highly recommended you book your newborn session now so that we know how many newborns will be on our schedule during these months and plan for them.  If you do not book in advance, chances are you will not get on the schedule!  Newborn sessions really need to be done within two weeks of birth to ensure those beautiful newborn sleeping, curled up poses!  They’re only newborns once, don’t miss out!  Make sure you book early to ensure you’ll get those beautiful images to cherish forever!

The “K” Family

May 15, 2011

I had the “K” family in the studio yesterday!  With a newborn and a 15 month old girl!  Talk about a busy family!  The girls are both beautiful!  The newborn was perfection!  We never got her completely knocked out asleep but she was so easy going that we still managed to pull off the session with a nice variety of images!  Her older sister was the typical 15 month old, more interested in exploring than sitting for photographs!  We did manage to grab a few of her however!  Check out these beauties!

RI Newborn Baby PhotographerRI Baby PhotographerRI Newborn Baby PhotographerRI Newborn Baby PhotographerRI Newborn Baby PhotographerRI Newborn Baby PhotographerLots of beautiful images from this session!  Mom and Dad are going to have a difficult time picking for sure!  Newborn sessions really need to be booked as early as possible after birth!  It’s best to get in before 10 days of age to ensure your newborn will sleep and allow us to curl him or her into beautiful poses!  Contact the studio today to book your newborn session!  I have new mothers contacting me right after they find out they are pregnant to make sure they get on the calendar…it’s never too early!

I’ve been so lucky this winter to have quite a few wonderful service people in the studio!  I’ve had some sessions with quite a few Army folks and now a Navy baby!  This little one was a perfect angel in the studio!  Not a single peep out of her during the entire session!  She came in to the studio at 9 days old.  I cannot stress enough how important it is to get newborns in before they turn 14 days old.  The session is so much better the early they come in!    She’s a special little angel, her daddy is out to sea with the Navy and he will not meet this little one till she’s seven months old! I hope he can see these from where he’s stationed and just maybe enjoy some of this wonderful sweetness!

I ended 2010 with this adorable family in my studio on New Year’s Eve!  They are so sweet with their beautiful baby boy!  Baby “D” was so laid back and seemed happiest to be able to stretch out and lay back right on the floor in the studio!   He’s three weeks and already past that curled up newborn phase but still as sweet as pie!   I was so happy to capture these special memories for them!    Here is a preview for Family “M”!

Little Zoe came into the studio at one week of age for her very first photo session!   She was just as sweet as can be!   And she had an awesome photo shoot!   I always tell my clients the earlier you can get them in, the better! Under two weeks is best.    I know this is bigger than my usual peek, but this family has been waiting since before my vacation!  Just check out this beautiful girl!

Another beautiful newborn came in to the studio recently.  There’s a baby boom for sure lately!  I just love them!  Getting them in as early as possible really is key to getting those beautiful sleeping, curled up baby shots!  I recommend before two weeks!   Once Carter had a nice fully belly he gave in and went out long enough for us to capture some beautiful shots!  Isn’t he adorable?!  I just loved his hair color!  He’s so sweet!

RI Newborn Baby PhotographerRI Newborn Baby PhotographerRI Newborn Baby PhotographerRI Newborn Baby PhotographerI recommend calling or emailing to book your session before your little one is born.  That way I can leave some buffer time on the calendar.  Once your baby is born, get touch right away so we can book your date!  If you’re having a c-section you can book your date in advance and be sure to get on!   You really want to capture these moments as soon as you can after birth, they really do change so much.  You’ll be surprised when you receive your prints at how much your little one has changed in just that short amount of time!

It was such a pleasure to get to photograph these 2 week old newborn twin girls!  Monica and Stella were born to one of my recent maternity clients!  I was so excited to get them into the studio, I could not wait.  Here is a small sample of shots from our session.  They were just perfect in every way!

RI Newborn Baby Photographer TwinsRI Newborn Baby PhotographerRI Newborn Baby PhotographerRI Newborn Baby Photographer TwinsMom and Dad I hope you are getting rest!  I’m glad you got a nap in while at the studio, you both look so tired!  Your baby girls are absolutely beautiful…enjoy every moment!  I’ll be in touch when your gallery is ready for viewing!

This little lovey was in my studio this past weekend for his first photo shoot!  He was the sweetest little thing with the most adorable hair, oh gosh I just loved him!  His mom, Michele came in to the studio about a month ago for her maternity session.  I just love when clients come back with their newborns!   We had a fun time at the session!   Here is his sneak peek!

Goodness, I could just eat him up he’s so cute!

Michele and Jessie I hope you enjoy your little preview!  I’ll be in touch as soon as the rest of the gallery is available!

I have a lot more newborn sessions scheduled in the studio during the next month!   Call or email today to schedule your session!  Please plan ahead!  Suggested time for maternity sessions is 32-36 weeks and newborns do best at under two weeks!  The earlier, the better!    They change so quickly during the first couple of weeks!  Don’t miss out on capturing your newborn before he or she changes!  Belly to Baby packages are available!  More info on the website, or drop me an email at linda@lindahawkinsphotography.com.

I had the pleasure of photographing these beautiful twins yesterday!  They are just so sweet and adorable and…well….perfect!   Four weeks old and still so little!  Just check them out!  Sweetness in every way!

First up, baby Michael!  He was the sleepier one!  I love how he scrunched up his little forehead…just so sweet!

RI Newborn Baby PhotographerAnd little Miss Kathryn….she was the fiesty one…lol.  Did not want to sleep for us, though we did manage to get her to sleep for a few minutes after a lot of coaxing!

RI Newborn Baby PhotographerRI Newborn Baby PhotographerAnd a couple of them together.  I wish we got some of the two of them sleeping…the ones I did get one is always awake!   I just love sleeping babies!  Of course Kathryn likes to kick off blankets and swaddling….so it was really hard to keep them wrapped together here, but we did get them together for a couple of minutes for a nest shot!

RI Newborn Baby Photographer TwinsAnd this with special blankets made by their grandmother.  These blankets were georgous!  Of course…Michael is asleep and Kathryn wide awake!  lol  I just love the looks on their faces here!

RI Newborn Baby Photographer TwinsI told you they were adorable!  I enjoyed my time with you guys yesterday!  Great job on keeping the house super toasty!   It seemed to work well with Michael!   lol  All these shots were done in their home with natural light.   I hope you enjoy this little peek!  I’ll let you know when your gallery is ready!

Oh boy…another baby!  More baby sweetness!  Not sure how much more I can take!  There’s a baby boom going on out there!  This little guy was in the studio tonight for his newborn session.  He did great!  We got so many of those beautiful sleepy baby shots!  Mom and dad brought in some great hats too!  I love hats!  Check him out!

Oh this baby is so sweet!  I enjoyed being with this family yesterday.  They are celebrating the arrival of the newest member of their family, baby David.  And family has driven out from Michigan to welcome him!  There were four generations present so this was not just a newborn shoot, this was a newborn shoot and a generational shoot!  The sweetness of this baby was just overwhelming!  He even smelled so good!  Here is baby David, one month old!

Oh how sweet he is…this reminds me of a Bessie Pease Gutmann piece!

Oh what a doll!  I enjoyed shooting with you all yesterday!  Erin I’ll let you know when your gallery is ready!  Enjoy the weekend!
