With the recent migration issues of our website to another server by the host and Hurricane Irene I have been unable to blog and keep up!  We are back online and have power at both our home and studio and we are doing our best to catch up with the many emails and phone calls we were unable to get to while we were down!  Please bear with us as we make the best effort over the next day or so to get back to everyone.  Also, we have been made aware that some of our recent inquiry emails to the studio have been lost forever.  We received blank emails instead of the actual inquiry message from our clients and potential clients.  We noticed the issue on Friday, if you’ve emailed us during that time and have not heard back by this Thursday, please email or phone call us!  The studio email is linda@lindahawkinsphotography.com (this is the one that has had an issue, but should be corrected at this point, that is what our web host is telling us), my personal email is linda_hawkins@verizon.net and the studio phone (which we believe is working fine at this point) is 401-486-3656.  For some strange reason we are still having wifi and 3G issues, so we appreciate your patience as we try to get the little things cleared!  At the moment the most reliable connection seems to be the email linda_hawkins@verizon.net.   We will make every attempt to return all the emails and phone calls that we do have today and tomorrow!  We are still working closely with the website host to resolve issues so if you notice anything please let us know so we can alert them!  It’s been a long haul with technology the past week!  We had a lot of clean up from the storm and we are now waiting for the large piles of debris to be removed from our front yard!  We lost a 100 foot blue spruce from our yard and so lucky for us it did not decide to fall on our house, but in the other direction right across the road!  The storm was quite an experience, one me or my children will never forget!  Quite scary!  School is still postponed and we are not sure when they will get back!  We hope everyone is safe and we pray that everyone gets power restored as soon as possible!  The crews are working so hard!

So, what everyone is waiting for!  I was so very lucky to witness something very special last week before the hurricane!  A service member returning home to his family after his one year deployment overseas!  He was due to arrive late at night and his plane was a little later than expected, but incredible these young children had no problem waiting up for him!  They were so excited that daddy was coming home!  They even had a long car ride from Groton, CT!  Of course Mr. X had a lot of plans for daddy for the week and I really hope that they got to do them all!  Little Miss A seemed a bit shy at first, but very happy!  The energy was wonderful!  I’m hoping they all got holed up together for the weekend during the storm for lots of uninterrupted family togetherness!  Without further ad0……a very special homecoming for a very sweet family!

We all arrived at TF Green airport a bit early so there was a bit of waiting, and daddy’s flight was a little delayed, but these kids were so well behaved I must admit!  So glad it was not my kids waiting because it would have been a different story for sure!  lol  Note, Mom is texting with dad for an eta!

Big hugs and kisses as everyone gets reunited!  So fabulous!RI Navy Operation Love PhotographerRI Operation Love Photography

It was quite an experience and I was so happy to be a part of it!  I’ll be in touch with this family shortly to get their photos to them.  They came to me as part of the Operation Love program that I am proud to be part of!

Lastly, I do have some weddings and portraits to get up for everyone and galleries to be posted.  Please bear with me as we crawl out from under, we are a bit behind after the storm but we will catch up!  Hugs to all, I hope everyone is safe and has their power back very soon!  I heard it may be up to two weeks for some.   As I sit here very late, and it’s very dark, I hear the sounds of heavy equipment and chain saws even now and the occasional hum of a generator and my thoughts go out to all the neighbors I have in my neighborhood who are unable to sleep in their beds tonight because they have trees through their houses!  The fury of the storm still scares me!   Can’t wait to have everyone back into the neighborhood!

Take care!
